Logan has a mysterious past and has only been working at the Wicked Horse for about a year. We know a little bit about him from the previous books in the series and we definitely know his extremely wild side that allows him to try anything with anyone. He is a puzzle from the get go but we find out his back story and his is the most heartbreaking so far. I didn't see it coming. I mean I know he had a past that lead him to bury it in kinky sex but I didn't expect that story.Logan mets Auralee who has her own past and when they meet it's under lies and pretense. They share an incredible connection from the beginning but Logan's past leaves him thinking he is not good enough for her. He lets his demons dictate his future. He lets Auralee go presumably for her own good but the connection is just to great. Auralee flees when Logan refuses to tell her about his life before he arrived at the Wicked Horse. Things are def. not as the seem on the surface.Auralee is in trouble and Logan goes to Bridger for help without consulting Auralee. This of course causes tension between the couple and puts Auralee and her father in danger. Too his credit Bridger helps them out and devises a plan to help Auralee and her father. He is also instrumental in helping Logan to realize that he needs to open up to Auralee in order to give them a chance a happiness. Logan doesn't believe he can or should be happy but he does go to her to tell her this story.Also at the end we get a taste of Bridger's story to come and while Logan's backstory is heartbreaking I think it pales in comparison to Birdger's. I loved this book and the entire series. Yes these books are filled with kinky sex but that's part of the story. Ms. Bennett's characters are strong and defective in some way and yet they are able to find love and while love doesn't conquer all, it does go a long way to helping these characters become whole again.I am hooked on Ms. Bennett's writing and look forward to Bridger's story. I will be sad to see this series end. I have been pulled in by the writing and am glad I stayed for the ride!
