It’s hard to say anything about this group without saying that two years ago they lost their lead vocalist, the very popular Carlos Marin. This CD has Carlos in his rightful place taking up the tenor voice in the lower register making him the group’s baritone. From the first cut to the last the Il Divo treatment of familiar songs sung in Italian will take your breath away. Their treatment of Wicked Game ( also album title) is worth mentioning because it’s sung with such passion. Recusa Mi ( Rescue Me) is so good you’ll have it on repeat then it’ll stay in your head all day. This group of forty somethings have been together for twenty years singing popular music treated with style and having an operatic sound. It’s very calming. Each individual voice has its range and special sound when brought together it’s magic. Since Carlos’ passing in 2021 the group has added another baritone whose voice gives the group a slightly different sound since his voice is fully trained operatic baritone. You’ll love this cd which was recorded around 2011.You won’t regret this purchase.
