I just finished reading this beautiful collection of short stories by author Manuel Melendez. Just in time for Halloween, this book is a collection of horror stories that harken back to the best works of horror masters Edgar Allen Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, and others. It was a truly enjoyable read, with the added bonus of the superb illustrations that capture the essence of each story. Although all of the stories are wonderful tales of the macabre and or psychological terror, I do have my favorites, and they are: "Hoy Viene la Muerte", "The Whining Tree", "Lunch Hour", "Wild Cinnamon", and "Blood Paints." I heartily recommend this book to all of my fellow horror enthusiasts.
