Product Description

It's been nearly 4 years since I've released a new record and The Ettes debut album was among the last few I put out. I am very excited to once again become involved with The Ettes and begin operations on such a high note. In august i will be unleashing the LP (vinyl version) of their new album, "Wicked Will". It is amazing, I can't stop listening to it. There will also be a release of a single (well, actually 3) of "The Worst There Is" from the album with 3 different covers and 3 different b-sides. To. Here is official release/propaganda info written by someone much more astute than me.

The Ettes have somehow been able to extract the best from each of the decades of modern music. From the 40's a whiff of Hank Williams , Sr. country. From the 50's the soul of rock and roll. From the 60's the essence of the great female singers and Motown groups. From the 70's the heart of the punk rock movement. From the 80's, actually the 80's sucked bigtime and thank god they have taken nothing from this black hole in the galaxy of music. From the 90's and 00's they have embraced the experimental sound and nature of White Stripes and the Kills. Throw this all into a bag, and out emerges the Ettes. With this new album they accomplish the delicate process of making a new album just as good as prior albums, but a little bit better. The musical advancement with this album is the songwriting. Every great artist at sometime immortalizes themselves with a line in a song that speaks volumes beyond the words written and takes on a life of its own. "I saw a deadhead sticker on a Cadillac," or "I shot a man just to watch him die," would be two examples. With this album I was struck by the lyrics. Such lines like, "Every time you smile I can tell you're just showing your teeth," or "You can't be faithful but you're true," elevate this album and continues artistically difficult task of making successive albums better, but not alienating your core audience. With this album the Ettes have released 4 albums to date. I have been buying albums for 40 years and have a collection that covers most of the major and minor artists from the 40's to present day. In my opinion, no one has put together a finer package of music in four consecutive albums then the Ettes have.On a personal note, I have been a rabid fan of this band since accidentally stumbling across their 2nd album. I have traveled all over the country to see them live, and have never been disappointed. They are possibly even better live, as all the good ones exude an energy and have an edge that needs to be experienced in person. I addition they were quite nice to this middle aged star struck stalker when I finally got to meet them in person at their recent Philadelphia show.
