The Animals were a really great British rock and rhythm and blues band, way ahead of their time and Eric Burdon's voice and influence was a big part of why that is true. I have always been a fan. After the original Animals broke up, Eric was the only member who really tried to keep what they started alive. He's had his ups and downs over the years, trying to find a middle ground between his love of the blues and staying trendy or having hits. In my opinion, this record was his peak. His voice was never better and he's doing the kind of music he was born to do. Anything he has released since pales in comparison.
