Re-mastered. Ex-pat Englishmen Jim Pembroke moved to Finland in the 1960's and found himself at the center of a progressive musical explosion. He went on to become an integral part of the legendary band Wig Wam but quickly realized that even the experimental Wig Wam would not be enough to satisfy his more esoteric creative urges. As a result, he began to issue occasional solo works, the first of which was "Wicked Ivory". Backed by other Wig Wam members, this album comes across as almost a lost Wig Wam release, although far more quirky and yet somehow laid back. Love. 2005.
Well...This is the strangest music I have ever heard. And it is absolutely wonderful. Jim Pembroke takes the role of ring-leader and "introduces" all sorts of singers. Of course, he sings all the sundry characters. It is all quite sane, thank you! "Grass for Blades" will make your heart stop. It's that profound in an anti-Viet Nam War sort of way. Yes, Jim, I would fail a test, too. Buy this album. Enjoy it. Pembroke is the master. Ain't that something.
