First things first... "Pedal to the Metal" from 2006 was horrible. If that is all you have heard from Impellitteri, I apologize on behalf of the band and good taste in general. Whoever the singer was for that album was AWFUL, and the music completely uninspired.On to the good news... "Wicked Maiden" slays from the very beginning. Five seconds into the title track and it gets into your blood! Chris' tone is KILLER AMAZING INCREDIBLY AWESOME! I've got lots of nice guitars and great gear and can't even get close. The album continues with the best stuff first.Rob Rock is back on vocals and he sounds just as good as he always has. His wail in the intro of "Wicked Maiden" is great. It lets you know that great, melodic metal is still alive despite all the no-talent cookie-monster vocalists out there.Most of the great songs are in the beginning of the disc, with a few of the later tracks getting a little long in the tooth and a couple being downright hokey. Regardless, I still give this 5 stars because I can't stop listening to it 6 months after I bought it!
