6/1/2017 Re-writeThe smell is very subtle but also wonderful in nature.The original product that arrived from Amazon did not come with instructions or proper boxing.Upon a less than glowing review the seller reached out to me and requested to replace with a known good (new) version of the product. Upon receipt I went through testing with multiple shaves and multiple razors.Based on my beard I won't use it as a shave oil (no shaving cream or shave soap), but as a pre-shave the replacement item performed exactly as I had hoped it would and I am very pleased.I coupled it with a tallow soap from the same maker and though the soap is excellent on its own, the shave oil as a prep step made for one of the most enjoyable shaves I've had. I was able to repeat the process on multiple days with multiple razors.Bravo.
