Grab your seat belts and buckle up because the action in Wicked and Forever is intense, hard hitting and pretty much non-stop. Shayla Black is known for her steamy romances but she's equally adept at explosive action, suspense and intrigue. This book is a stellar example and one helluva ride. It reaches out and grabs your attention immediately then it's a cover to cover reading in one sitting. Laila's ferocity knows no bounds. She'll do anything to protect those she loves even taking on a cartel without backup. She wily, fiercely loyal and seemingly fearless. This spirited woman captured Trees heart and while he does everything he can think of to protect her but it may not be enough. Has he had blinders on when it comes to her? Determined doesn't even begin to describe him as he relentlessly searches for her and for the truth. He has a unique way of extracting the truth from her. It's clear the danger to Laila, her sister and her nephew has not abated. It's time for a show down and she's got just the thing to make it happen. In the end there's an HEA for Trees and Laila.
